Employment Equity Act — Section 19 Data

Sensitive Information Race, disability status, and gender are collected in compliance with the Employment Equity Act No. 55 of 1998. This data is voluntary, confidential, and used solely for EE reporting and designated group targeting. It is never used for discriminatory purposes.

Your skills, qualifications, and preferences power our AI matching engine to connect you with relevant opportunities.

Notifications

We send application updates, interview invitations, and relevant job alerts based on your profile.

Platform Improvement

Aggregated, anonymised usage data helps us improve features, fix bugs, and enhance user experience.

Legal Compliance

We process certain data to comply with POPIA, the Employment Equity Act, and other applicable South African legislation.

Employer Connections

4.1 With Employers

When you apply for a job, your profile and CV are shared with the relevant employer. You control which jobs you apply for.

4.2 Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party providers who assist in operating the Portal (e.g. email delivery, hosting). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.

4.3 Legal Requirements

Legal Disclosure We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ELIDZ, our users, or the public.

4.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Password Hashing

All passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we never store plain-text passwords.

Prepared Statements

All database queries use prepared statements to prevent SQL injection attacks.

Session Security

Secure, same-site session handling with CSRF token protection on all forms.

File Access Control

Sensitive files (.env, .sql, logs) are blocked from public access via server rules.

Email Verification

New accounts require email verification before access is granted.

Error details are never exposed to end users in production — logged securely server-side only.
